About
Portuguese visual artist based in Sintra interested in the relationship of art with science and nature.
In 2007 I travelled to the Middle East and Northern Africa to film a documentary series for RTP2 (Portuguese television channel).
Upon returning, I started what would become a 10-year collaboration with Dub Video Connection, one of the first studios in Portugal developing stage design & visuals for music labels and artists.
Initially I worked as a camera operator and editor of music videos and live report videos, and moved on to create 2D and 3D motion graphics and perform live visuals.
In 2010 I started a collaboration with label Desolat, becoming the visual artist for Loco Dice.
While working in Dub Video Connection, soon followed collaborations with two of the most renowned electronic music festivals around the world: Time Warp Festival and NEOPOP Electronic Music Festival, while experimentation with techniques such as video mapping and interactive visuals caught the interest of other artists and labels such as Sven Väth and Cocoon or Dubfire and Sci-Tech, amongst others.
DJ Ride - 2x IDA Scratch World Champion, one of the major names in the electronic music scene in Portugal, was also an important collaboration in visuals production and live visuals between 2013 and 2014, along with N.A.M.E. festival in Lille, France, where I was invited to create and perform live visuals.
In 2017, I became independent. After a decade of developing projects linked to a studio, I decided to start a new journey focused on a deeper, more personal artistic development and practice.
Further reflections on my primary interest - life and all of its mundanity and everyday activities and events - led them to be incorporated, directly or indirectly, in my artistic expression through image and sound.
Drifting to search for different organic materials, a new world of textures and details unveiled. This attention to what was often unnoticed drove me to new aesthetics, exploring the relationship between art, science, and nature with multiple techniques from digital and analog video and sound mediums.
